Dove Ulf Mahnke (Founder of NBT)

Dove Ulf Mahnke, born in Hamburg, Germany emigrated to the USA in 1983. He lived in Houston, Texas where he completed his initial training as a massage therapist in 1988. After his basic training, he treated many people with chronic pain symptoms. Because he could only offer a limited amount of help he searched for a treatment method that specialized in pain relief. Dove moved to California in 1990, where he met Paul St. John, the founder of Neuromuscular Therapy. Dove completed his training as a Neuromuscular therapist in the early 90’s. He was trained as an assistant teacher for Neuromuscular courses and in 1992 founded the “Marin Neuromuscular Pain Clinic”. Dove moved to Denver, Colorado in 2011, where he opened his “Denver Neuro-Muscular” practice.

Dove Ulf Mahnke has developed NBT over the last 28 years. His experience with patients in very difficult pain conditions and his collaboration with different doctors and therapists have shaped NBT to what it is today. Many Neuromuscular therapists send their most difficult cases to Dove. With the use of postural analysis and detail specific treatment techniques, he is able to determine the structural causes and treat the origins of his clients pain conditions. He creates a personalized treatment programs for each of his clients to support them to return to living in pain-free balance. Dove started to teach NBT courses in Germany in 2004 and for the past few years he has been developing NBT courses for the US.

The courses not only provide techniques, but a multitude of case studies to illustrate how to effectively apply NBT in a clinical setting. NBT is a unique technique that is easily combined with many other modalities.

Dove is currently busy developing more NBT courses as well as an
advanced postural analysis course (This course will require a certain degree of functional anatomy knowledge to participate).
