NBT III focuses on the treatment of the shoulder, chest, arm, and hand muscles. Conditions such as frozen shoulder, rotator cuff injuries, thoracic outlet syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, epicondylitis (tennis elbow / golfer’s elbow), Dupuytrens nodes are discussed and each participant will learn detail-specific techniques to treat these conditions.

The course curriculum includes:
Locating and treating trigger points. Using their referred pain patterns to identify the trigger points and associated musculature. Many conditions  are diagnosed as idiopathic. Learning about trigger points and their referred pain patterns gives the therapist the necessary clues as to the origins of those conditions and enables the therapist to create specific treatment protocols for their clients.

Part of NBT III is a detailed postural analysis of the shoulder girdle including assessment of shoulder height, rotations of the torso, upper arm and forearm. The muscular origin of those distortions will be discussed so that each therapist will be able to create a detailed treatment protocol in their own clinical setting.

Techniques to treat all shoulder, arm, forearm and hand muscles will be learned during the course.

NBT III teaches techniques for the treatment of the following musculature.

  • Chest muscles
  • Intercostal muscles
  • Shoulder musculature (a focus is on the treatment of the muscles of the rotator cuff)
  • Uupper arm muscles
  • Forearm muscles
  • Muscles of the hand
  • Ligaments of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and fingers
  • Joint mobilization, and joint decompression techniques for the wrist and fingers complete the course.
